imageimageThe second half of our passage wasn’t quite so fast.  A low was forecast to pass just above Bermuda so we reduced sail in anticipation of some stronger winds, especially overnight but in fact we never saw anything much above 20 knots.  We seemed to manage to stay just below the pre-frontal trough associated with the low and only saw some light rain as we approached Bermuda.  I am also happy to report that the freezer never went above freezing and again returned to normal freezing temps and that the fridge also continued to function.  We think both struggle when the battery voltage drops as often happens overnight so we plan to run the generator more on the next leg.

We met up with Sheila and Steve for dinner yesterday and will do so again today.  Jerry, our 4th crew member also arrives today.  So, the next question is, when to set off for the trip back to the US.  It looks like the best time is to leave as early as we can tomorrow morning as our forecaster predicts the wind will drop later and we should be able to avoid the lows that are presently off the East coast.
