The trip up the Delaware worked out well. After motoring around the shoals off Cape May, the wind slowly filled in and we ended up having the best yet sail up the Delaware on a beam reach doing10+ knots (in our opinion, the Delaware is best traversed as quickly as possible). We did, however encounter a few ships along the way so had to stay just outside the shipping lanes.
We also had daylight and the tide with us through the C&D Canal so continued on to Worton Creek where we dropped the hook around 10:15pm and enjoyed a celebratory beer before retiring for the night.
Now back in the marina, a heron visits most evenings before sunset while we try to chip away at a few tasks in the heat of the bay (100+ F / 40+ C). Great to meet up with all our friends again.

You really are Salty Dawgs now! Thanks for sharing your great trip with us. Nice to be able to visualise you in Worton Creek. We must have a Skype very soon. Sonia and George are trying to get together in France.

Imagine my surprise when I see “Timing” on the list for the Rally this year. This is after they had told me, ”Oh No, we are not going to do it this year!” ; ) Miss you and see you soon in Annapolis !!
