It’s Tuesday afternoon, and we are all up after sleeping off our overnight watches.
We had as many layers of thermal clothing that we could fit under our jackets, wooly hats and gloves, and it was chilly.
We entered the Gulf Stream around 5am, with the wind blowing 20-25 kts, nicely on a beam-broad reach, and immediately noticed a warm breeze. The water temperature rose to over 80F, and the wave height increased too! So now we can wash our dishes in hot salty water :-).
As the sun came up, we could see huge piles of seaweed floating past – from where?

Nice timing crossing the Gulf Stream with the crossing during almost all daylight hours. Seems you’ll be through it by nightfall tonight. The Yellow brick tracking is very cool and much more current than the AIS(The AIS shows your last position was 14 hours ago?) Fun to watch. It must be nice to think your heading for warmer and warmer weather – especially after your first chilly day and night out.
