Through various events, Happy Hour to celebrate Cinqo de Mayo and a birthday (Jackie’s) in the Bitter End Crawl Pub on Tuesday and Michael Bean’s pirate show in Leverick Bay yesterday, we are gradually getting to know the Salty Dawg fleet. They hail from many different ports, mostly along the Eastern seaboard of the US and Canada but there is also at least one boat owned by a Scottish couple. It was Michael Bean’s last show for the season so he put on a special for us ….. AND it was being filmed so you just might be able to see us on The Travel Network sometime in January! The show included fun pirate and BVI-based songs, lots of audience participation, conch shell blowing contests and the special of a pirate on water stilts. You should get the idea from the photo – quite impressive and lots of fun. Afterwards we met another couple, John and Elizabeth who have a Valient 42 and hailed from Ontario/Halifax. Amongst their sailing adventures was a year cruising around Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. We soon found out they know Geraldine and Norman and indeed acquired a spinnaker pole from them for their return trip across the Atlantic! It’s a small world.

Today we plan to spend some time with Warren and Vicky, then back to the Bitter End YC tomorrow.
