imageFrom the warm initial welcome when clearing in and from everyone we have encountered during our short stay here in Bermuda, it is with sad hearts that we are departing today, even if the weather hasn’t been most cooperative, I.e., somewhat wet and even chilly!  We especially enjoyed spending most of Sunday with my high school friend, Sheila and Steve who showed us where the Americas Cup teams that are here already (Oracle, Japan & Artemis) set up their impressive bases in the dockyard areaimageand we spent a very pleasant time exploring the Heritage museum with them.  Lots of chat and catching up to do in between times!  Meanwhile, our 4th crew member, Jerry Nigro joined us.  He and Mike are good friends and we feel so lucky to have both of them onboard.

Our departure was delayed because we were having some trouble with the generator.  We couldn’t puzzle out why it wasn’t generating power.  Having contacted a number of people on the island to help, only one was available but he didn’t show up until about 7:30 in the evening!  But, he solved the puzzle and so we again have power to top up the solar panels and means we can run the water maker and water heater at sea, what luxury!
