I guess this is a day for recuperation as the wind is now light out of the West. Seas have flattened out and are much more regular, temperatures are rising, sun is shining so it’s time to shed the thermals and don shorts instead! This morning began with a real treat of a pod of dolphins (at least 9) swimming in our bow wave. They were a delight to watch as they dived under the bow into the deep blue, clear sea and back up the other side. Howard has been trying out his fishing skills using Cuban Yo Yo’s and cedar plugs but has only caught seaweed so far and has lost one of the 2 cedar plugs (must have been the big one that got away), oh dear. We just have to keep on trying! The forecast is for freshening winds from the NE so we’ll enjoy the rest while we can.

Well done effrybody. What an adventure. We are completely riveted by the excellent blog, tracking you & the weather daily. So pleased that you have William & Karen to share watches and keep you loose. Don’t suppose you will still be cruising around the Carribbean in Feb? We e mailed our miss fixit who got us a flat last year in Jolly harbour, Antigua about a month ago to try & repeat, provisionally 3rd Feb for 3 weeks, but she hasn’t replied yet. Life moves slow in Antigua but hopefully we will get a reply before Christmas. If you guys are further South…Could possibly slip onto a Leat flight and join you for a few days? Good luck and best love, Bids

Watching your progress on YBR. Glad you got good wind direction for crossing gulf stream. No trace of SSB direct at 2300Z on 6227 but conditions poor as expected .M&D

Enjoying your blog and following your progress on YBR. Envying the Caribbean seas but not the cold showers and night watches. Have a wonderful time! Ruth x

Hi to the crew of second wind. reading your blogs with interest and envy. It is reminding me of our travel in Libertad HR42. Bon voyage and a safe passage to Tortola in the BVI’s, paradise on earth ! Re fishing, try some feathers or a spinner. Safety tip. always wear a life jacket at night an CLIP ON. PLB,s are a life saver as well as an EPRB. Best wishes Paul.
