We ended up picking up a mooring at Marina Cay on Wednesday, which is just across from Trellis Bay but had the advantage of having a bit more breeze and being less crowded.  The bottom photo was taken from the Marina Cay Hotel looking towards The Dogs and Virgin Gorda prior to us sampling a Pain Killer at the Pussers bar (somewhat overpriced at $9 each).  The other two photos, while on the dark side, were taken in Trellis Bay (we dinghied across)  prior to the Full Moon party, one showing the metal braziers above the water prior to lighting the wood that was stacked within and the other showing some of the artwork in a lit brazier on land.

IMG_20151125_180605It was a short hop from Marina Cay to Nanny Cay on Thanksgiving Day so we were in our dock space shortly after noon.  The rigging guys (Wycomb Cay Rigging) showed up around 3:30 and set about tightening our rigging which they agreed was way too slack.  They appeared to be knowledgeable and willing to provide advice for other tasks, such as how to tackle the re-bedding the inner forestay to stop water from leaking into the fore cabin.   Afterwards we very much enjoyed Skyping with Scott, Kendal and her parents and sister who were celebrating Thanksgiving together, before we had our own little special dinner of roast pork loin and accompanied by a rather special bottle of bubbly that we have been saving for a special occasion.

Today we tackled the rebedding task, which involved dropping the staysail, removing the roller furling to reveal the turnbuckle (a.k.a. bottle-screw), which we loosened so we could release the entire inner forestay. We completed the task, apart from final reassembly of the roller furling, which stumped us. Hopefully the rigging guys can spare us a few minutes in the morning to figure it out.  We hope to depart Nanny Cay by noon tomorrow and head over to Norman Island where we should meet up with Roger and Gay.IMG_20151125_170150IMG_20151125_155237
