We had quite a long list of items identified as insurance issues that needed to be addressed before Timing could leave the port restriction imposed by our insurance company.  I’m pleased to report that we have checked them all off so we are now anticipating enjoying a bit of sailing on our new vessel.  We plan to depart tomorrow morning for an anchorage not too far away where we can continue to organize and stow the remaining items we have transferred from Second Wind, the sewing machine and scuba tank posing the biggest challenge ….. But we WILL find a way of stowing everything safely, eventually!

The photo shows Timing being hauled so that a couple of the through-hulls and 3 keel nuts could be replaced and the remaining keel nuts/bolts could be serviced.

Progress on Second Wind has been slower than we had hoped but we are optimistic that all rebuilding of the interior cabinetry (which includes applying new veneer to practically all affected cabinets) will be finished early next week.  We (OK, Howard) then have to re-install the nav station electronics (VHF, SSB, Pactor modem, etc.). Hopefully none of our labels have fallen off during all the work that has been done.  We will then move her and place her under a yacht management service plan in Penns Landing where the fees are a bit more reasonable.

The second photo of a “boat cat” was taken in Nanny Cay.  I expect this is the same cat that seemed to adopt Timing as hers before we took ownership.  There was a plethora of cat hair on the cockpit cushions until we gave her the message that we’d rather she found an alternate resting place…
